After discovering car parts in 2004, I’ve never looked back. I grew up gluing plastic car models, customizing them and later working on cars. The pinnacle (or maybe the beginning of the end) for me was replacing the automatic transmission for my 1977 pinto with a standard transmission in a snowstorm in February with no garage. While my relationship to cars–I don’t own one–has changed, my interest in their parts has only increased.

Below, (l-r):

A diaphragm spring from a manual clutch (with a little snow surprise)

A transmission filter cover.  Sadly they’re making them from plastic these days.

A print of a valve body from an automatic transmission.
